About Iridium Training

This isn’t about us. It’s about you.

Iridium Training is part of The Iridium Group, a group of companies that gives people the knowledge, skills and equipment to handle a crisis.

Our mission

Your story matters

You came here because you saw something you want to be able to do: stay steady in a crisis, help someone who is hurt, handle a firearm safely, protect yourself from a threat most people never think about.

Our job is to add that to your skill set, so it becomes part of your story. We do it with knowledge you can use, hands-on practice, and equipment you have actually trained with.

In Ed’s words

It’s time to get after it

“Life was never meant to be easy. At our ease is where we are in the most peril. Life is meant to be hard, really hard, and we are meant to get better and stronger as we progress through it: to do battle against the end every day so that we can make the most of our time, live to our highest purpose, and help as many as possible in doing so.

I established Iridium Training as a stepping-off point for those who are engaged in the struggle that is life. Our mission is to walk alongside you for a few steps in the right direction, on your path, and to help orient you in your endeavours to become the hero of your own story.

I don’t promise easy. I don’t dwell on comfort. I do guarantee you will learn from your time amongst us. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get after it.”

How we train

Acta Non Verba.

Deeds, not words. Trust is earned, and we stand behind every course we teach. We’ll always be upfront about what our training will and won’t do for you.

  • Hands-on from the first hour

You handle disabled firearms, apply real tourniquets and work with radiation detectors. The theory is there to support the practice.

  • No one’s coming

In a crisis, the first person on scene is usually you. Learn to look after yourself and the people around you until help arrives.

  • True North, strong and free

Canadian law, Canadian conditions, and scenarios built around what actually happens here.

  • Tested under stress

Classroom work is the opening act. Scenarios pressure-test it, because under stress you fall back on the training you have mastered.
