How we train

Acta Non Verba.

Deeds, not words. Trust is earned, and we stand behind every course we teach. We’ll always be upfront about what our training will and won’t do for you.

  • Hands-on from the first hour

You handle disabled firearms, apply real tourniquets and work with radiation detectors. The theory is there to support the practice.

  • No one’s coming

In a crisis, the first person on scene is usually you. Learn to look after yourself and the people around you until help arrives.

  • True North, strong and free

Canadian law, Canadian conditions, and scenarios built around what actually happens here.

  • Tested under stress

Classroom work is the opening act. Scenarios pressure-test it, because under stress you fall back on the training you have mastered.

Student feedback

From the people who took the course

Our students range from law enforcement and professional agencies to hunters, oilfield workers and parents.

I walked into the PAL/RPAL courses feeling nervous because of my dyslexia, but Ed did an amazing job teaching in a way it stuck, and I was able to pass all my tests and get my licenses. Very happy I decided to get on the courses with Ed.

We had Iridium attend our facility to deliver their Tactical Radiation Protection program to our first responders. The course was so focused and well presented it felt like it was tailored to our specific role. Mr. Hubbell demonstrated expertise in the field and competence in his demeanour. Overall we were very satisfied.

My husband and I took the Pre-Hospital Trauma Medicine course after witnessing a fatal MVI last year. The class lectures were very informative, but a little overwhelming at first. The hands on approach and the attention we got from the instructor really helped us both figure it out. We now keep a trauma kit in each of our vehicles, know how to use them, and feel empowered to help if we ever need to.
